Similar to last year’s “super secret” meeting at Blizzard HQ, it appears that players and casters are once again flying out to LA en masse. It’s unclear exactly who is going to be there, but apparently a few community managers will be there and all of the Western HGC teams will be represented as well.
The meeting is likely designed for the HGC players to sign their contracts and set the ground rules for next year’s league. In addition, we can probably expect that they’ll be doing photo shoots and intro videos. There are some rumors also that the players might be deciding on map pools and other rules in the upcoming competition.
Last year’s meeting was primarily a brainstorm session for future hero releases, competitive ideas, and features needed in the game. Players, casters, and community members got a chance to test out the newest Heroes (Chromie and Medivh) and give their input on the direction of Heroes of the Storm. That said, it’s possible that the players may get a firsthand look at Blizzard’s secret plans for 2017 too.
In any case, we’re likely to see a lot of new announcements popping up in the next few days. Stay tuned!
