On the 15th of November, Team ROCCAT announced through their official Facebook account that they are parting ways with the LCS.

Team ROCCAT uploaded a long highlight video of Team ROCCAT's achievements and a description to follow for their reasoning in not participating in the EU LCS. The post can be seen here.

According to the post, ROCCAT Founder and CEO René Korte's core value was to believe "The natural trajectory of the peripheral brand was to reinforce its community ties by taking the opportunity to develop and support a team."

Being a part of the EU LCS for the past 5 years, Team ROCCAT has come to the decision that the organization must broaden the brand's focus to the wider Esports scene. In other words, Team ROCCAT has decided to pursue a variety of Esports avenues rather than just League Of Legends alone.

René continues to explain in the post, "It feels natural as a brand to be more involved in the wider scene. While many of us are League players, we’re gamers first and foremost and we want our support to reflect that. We want to elevate the entire gaming scene by helping diverse talents reach their dreams."

With every year leading to changes in teams, rules, and League Of Legends itself, it is sad to see one of the original EU LCS teams part ways with the LCS. Despite it being unlikely for fans to see Team ROCCAT in the EU LCS any time soon, ROCCAT has made sure that their presence will be seen elsewhere.
