Warcraft 3 has been going through numerous patch updates over the past year. There have always been rumors of a Warcraft 3 remastered and, at BlizzCon 2018, Blizzard delivered.

More than anyone expected

In what seems like more than just a simple remastering, Warcraft 3: Reforged is a huge undertaking that has transformed one of the most important Blizzard titles (that set the stage and story for World of Warcraft) into a next-gen game complete with a brand new cinematic, 4k resolution gameplay, a place on the battle.net launcher, a new homepage at playwarcraft3.com and a release date scheduled for next year.

Incredibly, each Hero will now be available as a male or female. They will also have skins players can use to customize their appearance in game.

In addition, the iconic Warcraft 3 campaign and map editor are all things Warcraft: Reforged will include. This is huge news for the Warcraft 3 community that, even now, has a thriving competitive and streaming scene. Blizzard is poised to capitalize on this momentum with Warcraft: Reforged.
