On October 4th (KST), Marni’s Research Crate was added in Black Desert Online. Marni’s Research Crate grants a Great Marni’s Stone which can be filled with a specimen. This can then be exchanged with a box through an NPC which gives a random Yellow Accessory. The exchanged stone is not consumed but can be retrieved after its accumulated stats are reset.

This new crate can be obtained from monsters in Valencia, Kamasylvia, and Drieghan Territory at a low probability. The odds increase when you slay monsters such as Valencian Gatekeeper or Kvariak at Tshira Ruins in Drieghan. Upon using the crate, you receive another new item called Great Marni’s Stone.

There are 19 types of Great Marni’s Stone in total, and in addition to the areas mentioned above, you can also obtain it at the Protty Cavern and Sycraia Underwater Ruins. Just like the existing Marni’s Stone, the method of putting a specimen into the item is by slaying designated monsters that correspond to the type of stone.

After filling up the stone, you can exchange it with Marni’s Support Crate through the NPC called Wacky Test Subject, the former NPC called Wacky Toshi who used to exchange Marni’s Stone. The support crate grants a random Yellow Accessory which includes expensive ones such as Tungrad Accessories, Ogre Ring, and Laytenn’s Power Stone.

The exchange NPCs are located at Sand Grain Bazaar, Shakatu Territory, Valencia City, Ibellab Oasis, Old Wisdom Tree, and near the hunting area node manager at Valencia, Kamasylvia, and Drieghan.
