Typically, BlizzCon Virtual Ticket holders are treated to a few streams, some behind-the-scenes content, and in-game goodies, but this year, for the first time ever, they will have an opportunity to play BlizzCon-exclusive demos from their comfort of their home. For BlizzCon 2018, that means the chance to try the reboot of Classic World of Warcraft.
"Every BlizzCon, we look for opportunities to bring new aspects of the experience to our community around the world," said Blizzard. "This year, we’re excited to announce that for the first time ever, BlizzCon Virtual Ticket holders will join BlizzCon attendees as the first people to play the World of Warcraft Classic demo we’re creating for BlizzCon at home.
"Shortly after the BlizzCon opening ceremony on November 2 (on or around 1pm PDT), players will be able to download the same in-development BlizzCon WoW Classic Demo that will be playable on the show floor."
The demo will include a limited leveling experience through classic World of Warcraft zones, with one zone available for Horde and another for Alliance. Both Virtual Ticket holders and BlizzCon attendees will have access to the demo through 10am PDT on November 8th.
Starting today, BlizzCon attendees and Virtual Ticket holders will also receive in-game, faction-based cosmetic items: "War Mantle of the Alliance" and "War Mantle of the Horde" cloaks and "Stormwind Champion’s War Banner" and "Orgrimmar Hero’s War Banner."
BlizzCon 2018 takes place November 2 - 3 in Anaheim California.
