The new 4 King of Fighter featured heroes that will be added to Returners from August 18th to 21st (KST) have been revealed.

Following Terry Bogard, the new heroes that will be on the hero list of Returners are as follows: Kyo Kusanagi, Mai Shiranui, Iori Yagami, and Athena Asamiya. All of them have distinct skill sets reminiscent of their fighting styles in the original KOF.

Kyo Kusanagi is a duelist fighter with a PHY ATK skill set. He counters MAG-oriented enemies who possess high MAG DEF and primarily targets mages.

Mai Shiranui is similar to Kunoichi. Although she is considered a ranger, she can penetrate the enemy’s backline with her normal skills, and her ultimate skill allows her to dash forward. Mai’s preferred target is supports, so she will likely serve a similar function as Kunoichi does.

Iori Yagami is an AoE mage who attacks like a fighter. His normal skills allow him to dash towards the target and his ultimate skill also makes him charge towards the target and nullify the enemy. His ultimate skill, in particular, heals him based on the amount of damage dealt with the target, which gives him a nice survivability boost. Iori’s preferred target is fighters, thus it is most effective to have him in a team that focuses attacks on the enemy frontline.

Lastly, Athena Asamiya is a support who provides buffs for allies and inflicts debuffs on enemies. Her preferred target is rangers, and she has a somewhat distinctive normal skill that reflects received range attack damage back on the enemy. She can also dash towards one of her allies, heal them, and increase the attack damage of any allies who are in the path of her skill; her ultimate skill damages a target and heals allies at the same time.

All 5 heroes including Terry Bogard can be purchased at either Hero or Special Package, and Kyo Kusanagi can be bought at the Event Shop as well.

The 5 new heroes are expected to be added to the Korean server during August, while it is unknown when they will appear in the global server.
