On the 26th, at the Sangam OGN e-Stadium, the 32nd day of the '2018 LCK Summer Split' took place. During the day, Kingzone DragonX defeated KT Rolster, and Gen.G Esports defeated Griffin; making the LCK ever so more competitive.
In game 1 of the 1st series, Kingzone had completely taken over the early-to-mid game. In every exchange, KZ came out on top of KT, and Khan slowly reached a monstrous state. But even with that said, KT did a great job of holding out against KZ's aggression -- as a matter of fact -- in the late game, KT started taking advantage of their long-range composition, creating hope. But in the end, KZ successfully caught Smeb's Gnar after securing the Baron buff and took the set victory.
The winner of game 2 was decided fairly quickly. KT Rolster focused down on Khan's Camille, giving him no room to scale whatsoever. With that, KT Rolster extended their lead and took the set victory with ease.
The 3rd and final game was very close for both sides. With Kingzone taking Xerath, and KT, Azir, the match naturally went on to the late game. In the final moment, Score's Grave was caught out by KZ, and the rest of the KT lineup collapsed. With a final score of 2-1, Kingzone DragonX was able to take down KT Rolster.
In the following series, Gen.G Esports defeated Griffin with a score of 2-0. The games played today by these two teams will most definitely be remembered for a long time.
In game 1, both GEN and GRF played a number of what were possibly the best teamfights League of Legends esports can offer. Although the two were at even throughout the most of early-to-mid game, GRF's lack of proper engages became more and more apparent as the game transitioned into the late game. In the final moment, by winning a game-deciding teamfight, Gen.G took the first victory of the series. In addition, in game 1, Ambition had reached the milestone of securing his 1,000th LCK kill.
Game 2 was an even closer match between the two teams. Both teams were quick on their feet, providing immediate backup whenever a fight broke loose. And although GRF had taken a couple of advantageous leads in the early game, GEN was able to win a large teamfight in the mid-to-late game; allowing them to take the Baron buff. With this lead, GEN was able to destroy GRF's mid and top inhibitor. But not too long after, GRF won an equally large teamfight near the Elder Dragon -- throwing off both the fans and analysts alike.
As the game progressed, CuVee's extraordinary performance on Gnar allowed GEN to recapture Baron. However, before GEN could land the finishing blow, GRF successfully killed Gnar and Alistar; creating a valuable opportunity for GRF to make a grand comeback. But to no avail, Gen.G successfully defended their base.
Playing an amazing series, Gen.G Esports defeated Griffin with a score of 2-0.
