LOS ANGELES (July 12th, 2018) -- Today, the esports organization Sentinels officially
announces its expansion into Fortnite, the Battle Royale format game that has taken the
world by storm. This will be the second acquisition for the Sentinels, who rebranded and
announced their participation in the Hearthstone Championship Tournament in June
2018.
Sentinels have picked up the players of TT, a team that was noticed after working hard
and scrimming daily in the Pro Snipes Discord with other top tier Fortnite teams.
Owen “Animal” Wright is 20 years old and serves as the flex and main “Sploder” for the
team. Growing up in Michigan, he has been gaming for as long as he can remember.
He has played Fortnite since its release and converted to PC in February. Animal has
experience with competitive game battles through COD: MW1-IW, reaching the top 100
leaderboards every game.
Jaden "rieo" Leis is 18 years old. Hailing from Kelowna, he started playing games at an
early age with his first GameCube. He got started in Fortnite by playing with his friend
on Xbox, recently upgrading his PC to be able to run Fortnite. Coming from a
background of shooter games like COD, CSGO, Battlefield, and Overwatch has
prepared him for this next step in life. Rieo will serve as the main frontline for the team.
Mike “mikeqt” DeMarco is an 18 year old from Arizona. He has been playing video
games since he was a child and will be the frontline for the team. Growing up, he played
Call of Duty, Counter Strike, and Overwatch, always having a competitive mindset. He
has 6 years of experience gaming on PCs.
Cayden "Carose" Bradford is 18 years old and just recently graduated high school.
Located in Texas, he has been grinding Fortnite competitively since its release and
made a name for himself in the competitive scene. Before Fortnite, he played many
games competitively, such as WoW Arena, CS:GO and Overwatch. Carose plays as the
main support for the team.
“We can see the Fortnite scene is growing extremely quickly. There were 125 million
people playing the game last month and it’s the most popular game in the world. We’re
excited to see where this takes us.” says Charlie Lipsie, Director of Esports.
