'League of Legends' retook the No.1 spot in the 'Korean PC Bang Game Rankings'.
During the 1st week of July, after having been pushed to 2nd place by PUBG for 33 weeks, League of Legends once again became the most played game in Korean PC Bangs. (Data regarding both games were taken from over 13,500 different PC Bangs.)
League of Legends was the most played game in Korea for several years. Even after the release of some of the most anticipated games such as Blizzard's Overwatch, LoL stood strong. However, with the release of PUBG, a significant chunk of KR League's player base and streamers left for the massively hyped battle royale game. As a result, on the 19th of October, 2017, PUBG pulled itself above League of Legends and remained there until now.
However, due to the abundance of hackers and the appearance of Fortnite's battle royale mode, PUBG had a significant decrease in player numbers. The server issues that started occurring after the most recent server maintenance also seemed to have played a large part in the decline. Meanwhile, League of Legends had multiple largescale patches in the past few months and has held many events and esports competitions throughout the year. In the end, Riot Games' League of Legends was able to retake the No.1 spot in the Korean PC Bang Rankings after 33 weeks.
The top 3 games in the PC Bang Rankings are:
League of Legends (29.28%)
PUBG (21.56%)
Overwatch (9.84%)
