On the 29th of June (KST), the rosters for LCK, LPL and LMS to participate in the Rift Rivals were announced. A total of 12 teams were named on the roster: Kingzone DragonX, Afreeca Freecs, kt Rolster and SKT T1 for the LCK, Royal Never Give Up, Edward Gaming, Rogue Warriors and Invictus Gaming for the LPL and Flash Wolves, G-Rex, MAD Team and Machi E-Sports for the LMS.

Five tournaments with all 14 regions around the world will be held in the Rift Rivals. Each region’s representatives are decided by that year’s Spring Split standings. Each tournament may vary in numbers of teams, venues, or format, but there will be no matches between teams from the same region. The region that placed 1st in the preliminaries will proceed straight to the finals and the others will have another clash at the semifinals for a spot in the finals.
