The Overwatch World Cup is living up to its name with the announcement revealing 4 international venues that teams will travel to through August 17th and September 23rd. The competition will start in South Korea, The US, Thailand, and France with each country hosting 6 teams each.
Five of teams visiting and one home team seeking to defend their turf.
Two teams from each venue will then go on to compete in the Overwatch World Cup Top 8 at BlizzCon 2018 in November. With the deadline for each team to submit their final rosters coming soon, it is still anyone's game with many pro-players still looking for a world cup team.
OWWC GROUP STAGE: INCHEON
AUGUST 17–19
Home of two-time OWWC Gold medalist, Team South Korea. Russia, Japan, Finland, Chinese Tapei and Hong Kong will be competing at this venue.
OWWC GROUP STAGE: LOS ANGELES
SEPTEMBER 7–9
You know it from the OWL inaugural season, the American national team will host Canada, Brazil, Austria, Switzerland and Norway at this venue.
OWWC GROUP STAGE: BANGKOK
SEPTEMBER 14–16
An "ultramodern venue in the heart of Bangkok", this venue will be hosted by Team Thailand. China, Australia, Spain, Sweden and Denmark will compete here.
OWWC GROUP STAGE: PARIS
SEPTEMBER 21–23
The final group stage of the OWWC will be played in Paris with France hosting Teams UK, Germany, Poland, Netherlands, and Italy. Tickets are not on sale yet but will be soon.
