One of the biggest esports organizations in Europe, with over than 35 players competing in titles such as League of Legends, Call of Duty, Hearthstone, FIFA, CS:GO and Clash Royale, Giants Gaming announced a major partnership with British telecom company Vodafone.

“For a pioneer club in Spain as Giants it is a pride to have esports’ pioneer operator as a sponsor. It is a very important agreement for our club, as we take ourselves very seriously with whom we associate and believe that it is a great opportunity for both brands,” said Giants’ president José Ramón Díaz in the press release. “In addition, it arrives in a very special moment for Giants, as 2018 marks our tenth anniversary and we took a while preparing something very special for our fans,” completed him.

"We are very excited about this alliance that is a step forward in our strategy and ambition to lead the esports in Spain. We want to be the competition’s protagonist and contribute to the entertainment of all the fans, maintaining our commitment to bring them value through our content and help them reach their best level as players,” said Cristina Barbosa, Director of Brand for Vodafone Spain.

As part of the agreement, the organization will be renamed as Vodafone Giants, with Giants also helping to create content for Vodafone’s esports channels on YouTube and Twitch, which will include players joining the bi-weekly stream of the “Esports Vodafone Academy” to share tips for viewers to increase their in-game ability as well as taking parts on AMAs – with the first one taking place on April 24 featuring Alfonso Ramos, two-time FIFA World Champion who currently is a member of the organization.

Finally, Vodafone Giants wrote on Twitter that they will be providing free Vodafone Giants jerseys for all fans who purchased a Giants Gaming jersey throughout the last months.

A member of Europe’s premier League of Legends league, the EU LCS, where they finished the Spring Split placed 9th out of 10 teams, Giants however don’t have a spot secured in next year’s league yet, as following an announcement last week, it will be franchised by Riot Games, with all current organizations – as well as new applicants - having to undergone a lengthy application process lasting until December in order to be part of the revamped EU LCS.

With this important partnership with the communication giants, Vodafone Giants surely gained some points in the fight for one of the 10 very coveted spots.
