The LA Valiant of the Overwatch League has had a major roster change prior to Stage 3, and made an official announcement via their team page on the OWL website and their social media on April 2nd.

First, Kang-Jae ‘Envy’ Lee will be released from the team following a mutual agreement. Envy has been the tank duo with Fate for the LA Valiant and has greatly contributed to the team’s victory. Envy explained how he came to leave the team via his Twitter and emphasized that it wasn’t a one-sided release but a mutual agreement.

Christopher ‘GrimReality’ Schafer, their DPS, will be retiring as a pro player and will be coaching the LA Valiant. He will be managing the players and helping with team strategies as their assistant coach.

Also, there has been news of a trade of Benjamin ‘uNKOE’ Chevasson from LA Valiant and Scott ‘Custa’ Kennedy from Dallas Fuel. Both players were sub-healers for their teams, and the LA Valiant will be playing the remaining season with Kariv, Verbo, and Custa as their healers.

There have also been rumors going around about of one of their other DPS players, Ted ‘silkthread’ Wang, transferring to the LA Gladiators. This was told via Twitter from Rod ‘Slasher’ Breslau, the Overwatch Esports Consultant, and has yet to be officially confirmed, but based on the current situation the LA Valiant is placed in, it is highly likely.

The LA Valiant recruited Joon-Hyuk ‘Bunny’ Chae from Seoul Dynasty on April 1st. If silkthread is to transfer to the Gladiators, the DPS for LA Valiant will be Agilities, SoOn, and Bunny.
