On the 8th of March, in the 2018 LCK Spring Split, Afreeca Freecs (AFs) defeated ROX Tigers 2-0. There was very impressive performance in the bottom lane of AFs. The bottom duo made up for losing the fight in the invade phase by making kills in the laning phase without any help.
The following is the interview with Park “TusiN” Jong-ik.
Q. You are on a 3-game winning streak. How do you feel?
I think it’s good that we’re catching up with kt Rolster who’s in second place.
Q. ROX’s recent performance was quite good. How did you prepare for the match?
We tried to keep it simple. We focused on ourselves trying to strengthen our strengths and overcome our weaknesses. About them, we only looked into preferred champions and styles.
Q. The start was really bad in game 2.
We thought that they might be there, but didn’t think that we’re not as strong at level 1. I just told the others not to worry, we can still take initiative as the game goes.
Q. How did Kuro end up picking LeBlanc?
LeBlanc is a champion that has many risks. However, Kuro is really good playing her and we thought that LeBlanc had good synergy with the other picks.
Q. It seems that you like picking the Xayah-Rakan couple.
Xayah-Rakan are champions that have really good synergy and they go well with the style of our bottom duo. I think that’s why we tend to pick them.
Q. Which match do you think is the most important of the remaining matches?
I think our last match of the split is against kt Rolster. That last match against kt Rolster is the most important, because we're going to win all the matches up to then.
Q. What is the biggest difference between Kramer and Aiming?
With Kramer, we give feedback without concealing anything. With Aiming, I mostly take control, and he relies a lot on me.
Q. Do you have any last comments?
Now that we won today, there’s no way to go but up. We’ll do our best to finish the split in at least 2nd place.
