On the 25th of February (KST), MVP dominated bbq Olivers in the 2018 LCK Spring Split. An “Ian” Jun-hyeong played Corki and showed off his explosive damage to lead the team’s victory.
The following is the interview with Ian.
Q. How do you feel beating bbq?
I feel good because it feels like we’re nearly out of the relegation match.
Q. Many said that it will be a close match, but it ended rather one-sided.
We had confidence, and we were able to win because our picks were good.
Q. You’re a lot stronger against bbq. What’s your secret?
I don’t think there’s a special reason; I guess we’re just their natural enemy.
Q. It seems like you’re adapted well to the new meta this round. What did you do during the break?
I practiced solo queue and tried to widen my pool of champions.
Q. The teams’ results are getting worse by the year. You had a very hard time in round 1.
I think we weren’t able to play comfortably because we were nervous when we play in competitions compared to practice. Frankly, I wasn’t nervous at all. (Laughs)
Q. Corki is appearing more and more. What do you think the reason is?
Personally, I think Azir is a bit better, but the one who has better champion knowledge will win.
Q. The next matches are against Kingzone DragonX and KSV. It seems like difficult matchups, how do you think it will go?
It’s really scary (Laughs). If we play as we did today, we’ll be able to have good results.
Q. It may be difficult, but you still have a chance to get to the playoffs. How do you think your round 2 will go?
We think of the playoffs, of course, but our no.1 goal is to avoid the relegation match. I think we can have up to 8 wins in round 2.
Q. Do you have any last comments?
I’m very thankful to the fans for cheering us in big voices. Please continue to support us.
