Twitch Reveals Their Complete Data of 2017, Faker With the Highest Amount of Concurrent Viewers


The social streaming platform, Twitch, looked back on the past year and revealed their global stats for 2017.

According to the data that was revealed on the 7th, Twitch had a total of 355 billion minutes watched in 2017.  Twitch also had approximately 10 million visitors to their site, daily. They had at least 27,000 partnered streamers and compared to 2016, the streamers' income has increased by 223%.

There have also been a number of record-breaking events throughout 2017. ELEAGUE's 'Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major Grand Finals' had broken a record by having 1 million concurrent viewers. Also, the League of Legends player, SKT T1 Faker, had a total of 245,000 viewers at one point on Twitch.

A community surrounding newly-released games developed on Twitch. The statistics allowed us to find out the top 10 newly-released games that were watched the most. Placed first is PUBG and following it are Fortnite, Destiny 2, and FIFA 18. 

In addition, the many donation programs that were held through Twitch generated approximately 29 million USD. Many donation events also took place in Korea - the most memorable streamer being "Thol-Thol-Thol-Ei' who collected 9,200 USD by going on a bicycle trip from Seoul to Busan. 

Twitchcon 2017 was also a success, as the event had a 25% increase in attendants compared to the previous year, and people from 60 different nations attended the event. In Korea, Twitch sponsored Korea's biggest game show, "G-Star", for the 3rd consecutive year. During the event, Twitch actively interacted with the visitors by showing a diverse array of content with their streamers. 

In 2016, Twitch released a simple data-graph, but this year, in the form of a digital comic, Twitch exhibited their achievements.
