On the 7th of February, Kingzone DragonX defeated kt Rolster 2-0 and collected their 6th win to stay in first place in the 2018 LCK Spring Split.

The following is the interview with KZ support, Kang “GorillA” Beom-hyeon.

Q. You won and stayed on top of the leaderboard. How do you feel?

It was a very important match for us to be in first place at the end of round 1. I’m happy that we won, and I want to continue to be at the top.

Q. Is it regretful that you lost the opening match?

I was really sorry to Rascal in the match against KSV, because he was really good that match. (Laughs) We were able to learn through that match, and I think that’s why we’re continuing to win.

Q. How was the match against kt Rolster?

Their performance is somewhat better recently. We lost to them at the KeSPA Cup last year so I really wanted to beat them. We played as we prepared and Peanut was especially good.

Q. Your next match is against Jin Air. How do you think it will go?

Jin Air’s bot duo is strong. Like today, I think the upper lanes will help us. I think we’ll win if we do what we do.

Q. It seems that the support position has changed a lot through the 8.2 update.

Diversity was added to the play, thanks to the Unsealed Spellbook. Now, supporters can use Teleport and have effect on all lanes. But when players get used to playing against Unsealed Spellbook supporters, it can be countered.

Q. I’ve heard that your win rate in scrims are really high too. Do you win in a short time in scrims as well?

We had really good results in scrims before, but while we were preparing for today’s match, we lost a bit, and had a few long matches. I think that was why we were able to win today.

Q. Any last comments?

I’m really happy to have won such an important match. I’ll make sure that we end in 1st place in round 1 by preparing well.
