An Assassin with long-ranged skills and crowd control.
The 2017 Halloween Event, with a variety of Halloween items, will start today and will go on until Nov 14th.
Blizzard Entertainment has revealed that Junkrat will be added as a new hero in the company’s MOBA game, Heroes of the Storm.
Junkrat is a hero from the Overwatch universe. After his homeland was exposed to radiation caused by the Omnic Crisis and turned into a harsh, irradiated wasteland, Junkrat became a worldwide criminal. Now he is joining the battlegrounds to take over the Nexus. Junkrat is an Assassin hero with many crowd control skills and long-ranged explosive launchers.
Junkrat’s skills include Frag Launcher, Concussion Mine, and Steel Trap. Frag Launcher is Junkrat’s primary skill, where he fires a frag towards a designated direction. The frag will change its direction when it bounces against geographical features, and will explode to deal damage when it strikes an enemy or reaches its maximum distance. Junkrat can also install a Concussion Mine on a designated spot, and then explode the Mine later. When the Mine explodes, enemies within the area of effect will take damage and will be pushed back. Junkrat himself will also be pushed back, but he won’t take any damage so he can also use Concussion Mine to escape. Steel Trap will deal damage to the enemy who steps on the Trap, and will make the enemy immobile for a short amount of time.
With his passive ability “Total Mayhem”, the explosives-obsessed Junkrat will drop multiple bombs when he dies. The bombs will explode in a few moment, deal massive damage, and send the one who killed Junkrat right back to his/her Altar.
Junkrat’s ultimate abilities are RIP Tire and Rocket Ride. RIP Tire is the same ultimate that Junkrat uses in Overwatch. Junkrat will launch a tire which he can control to change direction and jump over obstacles. Junkrat can make the tire explode on a spot where he wants, and deal damage to enemies in an area while pushing them back. Rocket Ride is a Heroes-exclusive ultimate where Junkrat flies into the sky riding a rocket. The rocket will land on a designated spot shortly after, deal damage to nearby enemies, and then deal additional damage by activating Junkrat’s passive ability Total Mayhem. After the final explosion, Junkrat will respawn in the Altar still riding the rocket, and can quickly re-group up with his teammates.
Junkrat has skills that can harass enemies from a distance and skills with crowd control effects. The primary objective when playing Junkrat is to cause mayhem among enemies by using his skills at the right moment. However, Junkrat can also be a challenging hero to play as he does not have any healing skills and it is hard to aim his skills.
Along with the addition of Junkrat, the Halloween 2017 event will also begin today. The Halloween 2017 event will start on Oct 17th and will last until Nov 14th.
