Blizzard Entertainment has announced that the balance patch for D.Va and Mercy, as well as the new map, Junkertown, will be updated on September 19th (PDT).
The biggest change for D.Va would be the cooldown for her Defense Matrix, which has been reduced to almost half. D.Va, a Hero that has always been used to block the attacks and ults of various Heroes, will now be played even more aggressively due to this change.
D.Va will be getting a new skill, Micro Missiles, which can deal a maximum 162 damage and will be able to cover up the weak long range damage of her Fusion Cannons. She will also be able to deal burst damage on a single target with her Boosters, Defense Matrix, and Micro Missiles.
As for Mercy, her playstyle will be changed greatly due to her ult change. The Mercy before the rework had a tendency to reverse sweep with her Resurrect, rather than support her allies during team fights. This part has been changed; Mercy’s ult, Resurrect, is now an ordinary ability that can only resurrect one ally at a time.
Instead, Mercy will have a new ult, Valkyrie, which boosts her overall abilities by enhancing her Caduceus beams to hit several nearby friendly targets, and allowing her to use Resurrect once every 10 seconds. Also, the damage and the firing speed of her Caduceus Blaster will be increased. Using Valkyrie will also enable her ability to fly in the air.
Along with the balance patch on the two Heroes, a new map, Junkertown, will be officially added in this update.
