HoYoverse today (Nov. 1) released a special preview livestream ahead of the release of its new planet life simulation title, 'Petit Planet'. In this video, key developers made an appearance to introduce Petit Planet's main features and event schedule leading up to official launch.
'Petit Planet' is a life simulation game set in a universe filled not with cold vacuum, but with a warm 'Starsea', where players become 'Planet Tenders' who cultivate their own small planet and bond with fuzzy anthropomorphic Neighbors. Players plant a 'Luca Seed' handed over by Planet Coordinator 'Mobai' and gather 'Luca' through everyday activities such as farming, cooking, foraging, beachcombing, fishing, bug catching, and selling goods to grow the Luca Arbor. As the tree grows and bears fruit, the soil becomes fertile, expanding the four seasons, the planet's appearance, and its ecosystem in diverse ways.

High-freedom customization and exploration elements also stand out. Players can craft furniture using gathered materials and 'Idea Cards', or purchase furniture and outfits from 'Loomi Home Shopping' and 'Glenn's Shop' to freely decorate indoor interiors and outdoor gardens. They can express their individuality through their 'Haven', the one-click placement and sharing feature 'Starlight Blueprint', and the 'Magic Hair Salon'. In addition, through 'Starsea Voyage'—sailing to explore unknown islands—players can collect rare resources and meet Neighbors with their own background stories, such as hat merchant 'Dorjelang', action actor 'Manman', Starsea route patrol officer 'Hapeno', and agriculture student 'Tika', welcoming them as residents of their planet.

Social content focused on heartwarming interactions instead of competition is also a core element of fun. Players can visit other players' planets to trade local specialties or exchange letters, and become 'Starry Companions' with like-minded friends to project constellations of friendship into the night sky or enjoy campfires and fireworks together. At the 'Galactic Bazaar', where travelers gather, players can earn 'Bazaar Jelly' through various events such as rhythm games, 'Talk Valuation' sessions where players promote item value for trading, lucky roulette, and card games, exchanging them for emotes or cosmetic items.

A rich array of pre-launch events and benefits has also been prepared ahead of official release. HoYoverse CEO Liu Wei, who made a surprise appearance on the broadcast, emphasized that players can obtain over 1,000 clothing and furniture items for free simply through check-ins and in-game play. Currently, the official website is running a milestone event that immediately grants the 'Bestie Star-Light' upon pre-registering, and provides rewards such as the 'Sproutling Outfit' and 'Bazaar Jelly' when global pre-registrations reach 10 million. In addition, various events will roll out sequentially: 'Gifts from the Starsea' where players complete missions to enter draws for iPhones and official merch, a party event gifting the in-game 'Akibo Top' to all participants when forming a 3-player party with 2 friends to pre-register, the 'Launch a Planet' web event where players draw and share their own planets, and the 'Seasonal Creation Event' creator program opening alongside the official launch.

An offline event to meet Korean players in person before launch will also be held. HoYoverse will host 'Petit Planet's first domestic offline event with a 100-booth presence at 'G-STAR 2026', the international game exhibition held at BEXCO in Busan for four days from November 19 to 22. At the G-STAR booth, a variety of programs will be run for visitors, including a hands-on demo zone to try out the game ahead of official launch, special stage programs, lucky draws, and free merch giveaways.
Meanwhile, HoYoverse's new title 'Petit Planet' will launch on December 4, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version scheduled to release in 2027.
