The quarterfinal and semifinal matches of the 2016 Overwatch World Cup were played today.

In the quarterfinals, Russia, Finland, South Korea, and Sweden advanced to the semifinals by defeating France, Spain, USA, and China respectively. The most noteworthy match of the Ro8 was Korea's 2-0 over USA. Many fans and experts took it to be the final piece of evidence against the lingering myth of Korean FPS incompetence.

In the semifinals, Russia pulled off a massive 2-0 upset over Finland, while Korea continued to not drop a single game by defeating Sweden 2-0. The Bronze Medal Match and the Grand Finals will be held tomorrow, starting from 10:00 PDT.
