On July 25th(KST), 'Team Liquid' made an announcement that Mickey will be joining the team roster. In the following hours, Mickey made a post on his personal Facebook account explaining the reasons for his actions and the resolution he made for himself. 


After his departure from 'Rox Tigers', Mickey said that he "spent countless hours playing solo queue." He made sure that his skills won't deteriorate by constantly playing because he is "extremely competitive and hates losing." He further apologized to his fans for showing many gloomy expressions on stage after defeats due to the above reason. 


Many fans noticed Mickey's fall in performance near the end of his career in Rox Tigers. Mickey explained why. "I know most of you guys think that I am in a big slump. I feel the same way. I also regret the fact that I am leaving LCK without really making a name out of myself [by being a top 3 midlaner in Korea]. I always felt pressure because I didn't want to disappoint the fans that had high expectations towards me. I just constantly felt the need to outperform everyone at all times..."


Mickey continued by saying, "You might cringe from this, but I believe in myself. I never slacked from practice, and I know I am a capable player with the right competitive attitude. I will improve as days go on." Mickey also mentioned that he went through and watched all of his past games and interviews. "While watching the VODs of all my past games since team Anarchy, I noticed that I started losing the confidence to make plays as time went on. I think it's because I was paying too much attention to the fans. "If I do this, will I receive harsh criticism?" I was young at the time, so I was easily affected by my surroundings." 


Mickey then cuts his post short by stating, "I don't need to say more, I will prove my worth through actions." 

He finalized the post with the following words.

"But now, I want to change. I want to return to my original confident and aggressive self. I will no longer pay attention to the haters on the internet. I realized I have fans who care for me more than those who hate me. When I land in NA, I will make sure to do my absolute best. I will also make sure for those who play against me to taste the flavor of my **dice. Just the side with the #6 on it. Please don't forget about me, and please cheer for me. Thank you."
