There are a total of 37 Masters in MXM. The Masters have different looks, skillsets, Attunements, and roles. You must play each Master differently for different uses.

Upon completing the tutorials, you will unlock Lua, an Assault DPS with Kinetic Attunement, and Sizuka, an Assassin with Helix Attunement. You will have to unlock the rest of the Masters with either Sol or X-Coins. When you accumulate enough Sol to unlock a Master, you will start to wonder which Master you should get.

Of course you can get any Master you want, but knowing which Master is better for which mode and knowing whether to use Sol or X-Coin to unlock a specific Master will definitely help you with gameplay. Below is our guide on how to use your Sol wisely in unlocking Masters.

◆ SOL or X-Coins?

▶ SOL

Sol is one of the in-game currencies that you gain through leveling up, Achievements, and clearing Stages at Nightmare difficulty. Sol is only used in unlocking Masters and entering Nightmare Stages. The cost of unlocking Masters range from 2 Sol to 11 Sol, according to the Master. The price and the Master’s tier has no relation.

If you do not want to spend too much Sol at once, you can start unlocking the Masters that do not require much Sol. Play both PvE and PvP with the Masters you unlocked and find out which Master best suits your gameplay style.

Demenos and Koom require only 2 Sol but are fairly efficient. Demenos is a hybrid Support popular for his crowd control skills and heal skills. His auto attacks can heal friendly targets, and he is strong in both PvP and PvE if you change his skill setting. Demenos is a highly recommended Master to unlock, if you have just a little Sol.

Koom is a Juggernaut Master with high survivability. Specialized in protecting his allies and tanking, Koom is the Master with the best defense. However, Koom’s offensive abilities are not powerful. It is better to Tag a DPS Master when you are playing him.

3 Sol Masters : Arami, MBA-07, Moro
4 Sol Masters : Cagnazzo, Innowin, Jingtai, Lorraine, Nanurunerk, Taejin

▶ X -Coins

Some Masters require more than Sol to unlock. For example, to unlock Tulam, a Helix Skirmisher, you have to play as Koom 10 times and complete the “Silent Boulder” Achievement first and then pay Sol. Some Masters can be difficult for new players to unlock.

You will have to play Timespace Distortion, which only opens at a specific time, to unlock certain Masters. For example, to unlock Poharan, a powerful Ardent Marksman, you will need to gather 30 Poharan’s Eyepatches from Black Ram Supply Chain. Gathering 30 Poharan’s Eyepatches will complete the “You’ll put your eye out!” Achievement and will allow you to purchase Poharan with 11 Sol. Other Masters that are only unlockable through Timespace Distortion also require 11 Sol, which is more expensive than other Masters.

If you do not want to complete the Achievement, you can spend the X-Coins to unlock the Master immediately. If the Achievement is too hard or you do not have any Sol, spending X-Coins might be a better choice.

Lilu : Play 30 times in Titan Ruins
Jinsoyun : Win 10 times in Titan Ruins
Dr. Raoul : Clear 'Rentu Research Wing' on Extreme difficulty
Maia : Unlock 20 Masters
Merope : Reach Level 40
Pancuga : Win 100 times in the Arena
Vita : Accumulate 1,000 Achievement Points.
