Today marked the second day of the Starcraft 2 World Championship Series Global Playoffs, featuring matches from Groups C and D.

Group C saw ShoWTimE claim a surprisingly dominant 2-0 victory against Dear, followed by a more expected win from ByuN over viOLet. The two victors will face each other on the 30th in the Winners match. In the Elimination match, Dear took down viOLet 2-1 to advance to the Decider. viOLet being knocked out of the tournament seemed to prove once again that Zerg was not in a good spot for the tournament; the first players to head home from Groups A, B, and C were all Zerg.

Group D kicked off with TY and Elazer taking close 2-1 victories against Nerchio and Solar; Nerchio went on to kick Solar out of the tournament by claiming a 2-1 victory in the Elimination match. Many would not have expected the Season 2 SSL champion to fail to even reach the Global Finals.

With Elazer, Nerchio, ShoWTimE, Neeblet, and PtitDrogo in a good position to gun for the Global Finals, this should be a wonderful time for those who have long wished to see more foreigners on the World Championship Series' grandest stage.
