There are various neutral monsters in ‘Titan Ruins’, one of the game modes in MXM. The neutral monsters in Tatian Ruins are the Guardian, Keeper, Warden, Titan Monolith, King Tanian, Alter Watcher, and Kahzor. Each monster has a different appearance and re-spawning time, and different rewards, thus it is good to know them in advance for better gameplay.
Slaying neutral monsters is crucial in order to win the match. This is because the amount of EXP and additional buffs from these monsters is quite significant. For example, Kahzor and King Tanian provide 100 and 30 points respectively for summoning the Titan during the game, and this may become a huge game changer in the late game.
In terms of the early jungling route, there is a difference of what you should focus on more between the lanes or neutral monsters. If you are to focus on neutral monsters, the usual route starts at the place where the first monsters spawn, then slay the Guardian, Keeper or Warden, and Altar Watcher in that order. When the lanes and Titan Sights take priority, it is common for players to take the lead of designated areas first and slay the closest monsters first, such as the Keeper and Warden.
Note that the location of neutral monsters differ depending on the player’s starting point. This article is written based on the locations of Kahzor at the top and King Tanian at the bottom.
The early jungling route - faster hunting of neutral monsters, or securing the vision
There are two types of routes in relation to hunting neutral monsters. The first one is based on the monsters’ order of appearances. In other words, the hunting starts from the Guardian, Keeper, Warden, and Altar keeper in that order, and can involve flexible movement depending on circumstances.
If you start near the spawning location of the Guardian right in the beginning of the match, you would have the advantage of faster growth as you do not need to waste time searching for neutral monsters and hunting them. However, you would lose the lead of securing vision and lanes if the opponent team focuses on laning when the ally team allocates most of teammates to hunting monsters.
If the team composition has one or two players specialized in jungling, ally laning teammates should focus on nearby monsters. Even if you are entitled to laning, it is wise to prevent the enemy team from stealing neutral monsters and to help ally junglers take the monsters down.
You can also take down the Keeper and Warden that are placed close to the Guardian and slay other monsters on the opposite side. This can help players gear up faster, but may cause them to lose the lead of the Altar and allow the opponent team to take Adman and Ruark. Players therefore tend to have a battle near the Altar for taking the lead and return to gearing up.
The second way is to focus on securing vision with your teammates from the beginning of the match, and slay the closest monsters in order. Players usually collide where the central Titan Sight is located, and you are to capture the closest one and interrupt the opponent from securing their vision as much as possible.
Masters who aim to hunt neutral monsters then begin to slay the Keeper and Warden when they spawn. If the whereabouts of the opponent Master is unknown, it is safe to slay the Keeper and Warden located in the ally team’s region, and aim for the opponent team’s monsters after avoiding the central vision, after you confirm that all the opponent players are in their lanes.
Players need to focus on laning first and then begin hunting neutral monsters after the Guardian, Keeper, and Warden have all spawned. Therefore, it is recommended to slay the Keeper and Warden followed by the Guardian, as the reward given by the Guardian is smaller compared to the others, and then focus on securing the Altar. You can go to the opposite side and slay the monsters there, but in that case you need to consider that you may lose the Altar.
When hunting neutral monsters, it is important to take a flexible path depending on the circumstances of the match, except in the beginning when monsters spawn for the first time. You need to protect the Guardian Tower when the lane is not occupied by anyone, and join the battle quickly to provide aid. If the team needs a jungler, the Master with good mobility would be advantageous. For mobile Masters, they can level up faster than any other Masters by joining the laning phase and hunting monsters simultaneously, thus it would be safe to strive for the safe play instead of bold movements such as hunting monsters on the opposite side.
The features of neutral monsters - no life regeneration, and rewards to the Master who lands the last hit
The main neutral monsters in Titan Ruins are the Guardian, Keeper, Warden, Titan Monolith, King Tanian, Altar Watcher, and Kahzor. They influence the levelling and victory of the Master by providing greater rewards than general units in lanes. For example, Kahzor and King Tanian provide 100 and 30 points respectively upon being slain.
The common feature they all hold is that the reward goes to the Master who gets the last hit on the monster. Therefore, players need to understand the movements of the opponent team first before slaying neutral monsters. The best moment would be when all of the opponent players are visible on the minimap.
Moreover, these monsters do not regenerate HP. That is, if someone attacked Kahzor and reduced its health to around 1000 HP and died, the number does not change afterwards. When you are attacking the monster and die without being able to finish it off, it is good to call your teammates to do finish the job, so that the enemy team doesn’t steal the kill.
From the Guardian to the Titan King - spawning time and rewards
The monster that spawns first after the game begins is the Guardian. It takes 30 seconds to spawn in the game. The HP and AP of this monster are relatively low, allowing just one Master to be able to kill it without much difficulty. The reward is 1 point and 125 EXP. Only one spawns in each jungle, and needs 3 minutes to respawn after being killed.
The Keeper and the Warden spawn simultaneously when 24 minutes and 15 seconds remain. The location of the Keeper can be seen by the red circle on the minimap, and the Warden by the blue circle. Each one of them spawns in each team’s jungle, and respawn time is 4 minutes and 30 seconds.
The Keeper and the Warden become the main objectives and early fights break out as teams try to get their buffs. The buff provided by the Keeper reduces the tag cooldown by 30% and helps recover tagged-out Master’s resources faster (e.g. MP, EP, stamina, etc.), while the Warden’s reduces the tag cooldown by 30% and helps recover resources faster.
Both have the common feature of a 30% cooldown reduction. The difference is which Master receives the recovery buff. The Keeper’s buff provides the buff to a Master who is tagged out and is not playing at the moment, and a Master who is currently tagged in and playing receives the buff from the Warden.
Both also provide 2 points and 150 EXP. They are more difficult to slay than the Guardian, but you can still slay it without a big hassle if you are given enough time. However, battles waged over the buffs are quite frequent, thus it is recommended to attempt taking them down when teammates are nearby.
More monsters are spawned on the battlefield 2 minutes into the match. The Adaman and Ruark Altars, located respectively at around 5 o’clock and 11 o’clock on the map, are activated, and two Altar Watchers are spawned at each altar. They give 2 points upon being slain.
Players can summon neutral monsters from the designated altar by pressing the interaction key (F) after slaying all Altar Watchers. For example, you need to slay all Altar Watchers at the Adaman Altar and activate the place if you want to summon Adaman. It takes around 10 seconds to activate the Altar. Although they are two different monsters, they have similar summoning methods and abilities.
Once summoned, these monsters automatically charge towards the opponent base via the nearest lane. For instance, monsters summoned at the Adaman Altar proceeds to the bottom lane. Both possess almost 20k HP, and provide a specific effect to nearby Masters, allowing one team to take the lead in battle.
Both Adaman and Ruark do not give any points or EXP when summoned. Nevertheless, they are considered important neutral monsters because they allow for easier management of lanes. They automatically charge towards the enemy base, dealing massive damage to towers if nobody is defending. This forces teams to defend their towers from Adaman and Ruark, allowing the other team to gain the lead in other lanes.
The respawn time of Adaman and Ruark is 4 minutes 30 seconds. Altar Watchers are respawned after the re-activation of the Altars.
Another monster that is spawned when 23 minutes are left is the Titan Monolith. It resembles the appearance of a tower, and drops an item called the Titan shard, which is needed for summoning the Titan. The monster also provides 5 points and 250 EXP. Even though the AP and HP of this monster is not that great, players tend to fight for it as the location is not far from the middle lane.
The Titan incarnate is available when 5 Titan shards are collected by one team. Unlike a normal titan that is summoned with 100 points and performs automatic movements, the Titan incarnate can be controlled by users and the damage is greater than the normal ones. It is therefore possible for a losing team to turn the tables with the appropriate use of the Titan incarnate. When the shard is acquired, the movement speed of a Master becomes drastically slow, making them quite visible to the opponent team. Thus, it is good to return to the base at the safe area and contribute the shard. The contribution is automatically done when you return to the base. The respawn time of the Titan Monolith is 5 minutes.
Kahzor, the neutral monster with the biggest damage in the Titan Ruins, is also spawned when 23 minutes are left. Unlike other monsters, Kahzor is spawned in a particular altar where you can enter by pressing F.
The reward is 100 points and 100 EXP, which is enough to summon a titan. This can change the flow of the battle even if the difference of points between teams is big. Because of this, teams battle each other frequently for it.
Another effect given from Kahzor is a weakened Guardian Tower. The team that doesn’t kill Kahzor has the DP and AP of their Towers reduced by 30% for a period of time. This can create a dire situation, as the weakened Guardian Towers can be easily taken down by the enemy team, often giving them enough points to summon a titan. Therefore, it is crucial to alway check out Kahzor, as it provides points and can control the flow of battle. The respawn time of this monster is 6 minutes.
The last-spawned monster in the Titan Ruins is King Tianian. The monster spawns 5 minutes into the game and gives 30 points and 300 EXP. Although the monster does not give as many points as Kahzor, the amount is still significant and may impact the flow of the mid-late game.
What’s unique about this monster is the debuff called Terror. The Master that is affected by this debuff suffers restrained movements, and may risk receiving heavy damage from the opponent Masters at this point. The monster’s damage is also quite heavy-hitting. The respawn time of King Tanian is 5 minutes.
