Longzhu Gaming's apology for late payments and contracts failed to address several details
On May 26th (KST), Longzhu Gaming released an official apology on the controversial issue regarding late salaries and contractual issues. The apology, written in Korean, came with explanations behind the situation, but it omitted parts that needed to be addressed.
Longzhu Gaming clarified that "before the article has been published ... the overdue salaries and the incentive pay due to Bontaek Gu has been paid out." The organization also admitted that they had "problems due to restructuring and China's policy changes" that delayed clearing of player salaries.
What caused the apology to be criticized was the following paragraph regarding the unpaid 10 percent of October salaries: "We have requested the proof of overdue salary from the players of 2016; but we have only received documents from four players, so the payment is still being delayed."
The paragraph poses two questions on why the organization would require a proof of overdue payments, and why they would need it from all players. Longzhu clearly stated that they are aware of the unpaid amount, and even the reason behind it. Yet, they are refusing to take action unless the players submit their proof. Furthermore, Longzhu argued that the overdue salaries have been paid out to players, but the paragraph states that they still have some amount of money left to be paid out as salaries.
The apology also did not address the allegations by 'Staff A', including the problem with contracts signed for 2017.
Meanwhile, Korean fans showed outrage at Longzhu Gaming's statement, not just because how "the situation was seemingly remedied right after the article has been published", but also because "the organization still require something from the players for something they rightfully deserve."
