IEM will not feature a League of Legends tournament due to scheduling difficulty
On May 23rd (PDT), Michal "mbCARMAC" Blicharz, the Vice President of Pro Gaming at ESL, announced on Reddit that IEM will no longer a feature League of Legends tournament - the first time since its 2011 debut.
The announcement was made as Riot Game revealed 'Rift Rivals' and their decision to pull League of Legends from IEM.
According to Michal, the decision was based on how the current LCS schedule is not very compatible with that of IEM, and Riot Games were not going to postpone regional Champions League for IEM. He also added that the event is unlikely to host further LoL events unless "scheduling events around LCS become easier".
