Riot Games has published a behind-the-scenes feature that explores the creation of “Here, Tomorrow,” the second cinematic release for the 2025 season of its flagship PC multiplayer online battle arena title, League of Legends, highlighting YOASOBI vocalist Lilas Ikuta's role and setting the stage for the upcoming “Soulbloom” content launch on Wednesday, April 30.
Released on Monday via Riot’s official YouTube channel, the production documentary details how Ikura approached her vocal performance with an emphasis on evoking a mysterious, ethereal quality that complements the cinematic’s tone and narrative. She also reflected on collaborating with Riot’s animation team to ensure that key scenes featuring the new champion Yunara conveyed the intended emotional depth.
Riot enlisted BAFTA-nominated composer Kevin Penkin to develop a musical score that weaves Ikura’s vocals into an orchestral backdrop, reinforcing the cinematic’s storyline through a blend of haunting melodies and dynamic arrangements. The feature offers a glimpse of the meticulous frame-by-frame animation techniques used to bring Runeterra’s lore to life, from nuanced character expressions to sweeping environmental effects.
Community response to the documentary was overwhelmingly positive, with the video surpassing ten million views within its first week and generating extensive discussion across social media platforms and fan forums. Riot Games has outlined a phased rollout of in-game events, champion skins, player missions and limited-time game modes under the “Soulbloom” theme, beginning with the first wave of content on April 30 and continuing through early May.

Since its 2009 debut, League of Legends has remained one of the most-played PC titles worldwide. Riot Games has expanded the franchise through spin-off titles such as Teamfight Tactics and VALORANT, as well as the Emmy-winning animated series Arcane, which has earned multiple Emmy Awards. The “Here, Tomorrow” behind-the-scenes feature underscores Riot’s commitment to integrating music and cinematic storytelling into the League of Legends experience, aiming to deepen player engagement in the evolving Runeterra universe.
