Adel “Big Bird” Anouche Powers Team Legends to Red Bull Kumite Victory in Paris

Red Bull Kumite’s 10th anniversary event concluded this past weekend at La Maison de la Mutualité in Paris, delivering a memorable battle between established icons and emerging talent in the Street Fighter community.

The tournament, held from April 5 to 6, showcased an Art Deco-themed format that pitted eight veteran players from Team Legends against eight promising fighters representing Team Underdogs. The event was designed as a generational showdown, highlighting the prowess of seasoned professionals while giving rising stars a platform to challenge the established order.

Team Legends, known for their successes at major competitions such as EVO and the Capcom Cup, ultimately prevailed. Adel “Big Bird” Anouche, who previously secured the title in 2023, led his team to victory with a well-contested performance. Anouche’s win secured his second championship at Red Bull Kumite, solidifying his status among the top competitors in the fighting game community.

The competition featured several key matchups, including a closely fought semi-final that saw a former champion succumb to the determined efforts of Anouche. Meanwhile, Team Underdogs delivered an impressive performance as well, with their fighter known as “EndingWalker” defeating top contenders to advance into the Grand Final. Despite their early successes, the underdogs were unable to overcome the tactical and technical experience of the veterans in the climactic rounds.

The event not only celebrated a decade of high-level Street Fighter play but also underscored the evolving competitive landscape where emerging players are challenging long-standing legends. Fans and players alike witnessed a series of intense battles that reaffirmed the depth of talent in the global fighting game community.
