The League of Legends Champions Korea held its 2025 Regular Season Opening Media Day Wednesday at the LCK Arena in Jongno-gu, Seoul, drawing coaches and key players from all 10 participating teams. The event set the stage for a season that will operate as a single, extended campaign running from March to September.

During the media day, representatives detailed their teams’ strategies and ambitions ahead of the season opener on April 2. Among the major topics discussed were recent rule adjustments, including the full implementation of the Fearless Draft and a patch that prevents line swaps. These changes are expected to reshape game dynamics, fostering more diverse jungle pathing and bolstering the competitive impact of bottom lane play.

A consensus emerged among the teams, as eight of the 10 sides identified Hanwha Life Esports as the strongest contender for the championship. Hanwha Life Esports, fresh off sweeping two major tournaments this year, was widely recognized by its peers for its tactical excellence and consistent performance. The remaining teams voiced confidence in their own rosters while acknowledging Hanwha Life Esports’ recent successes.

Event participants included notable figures from top organizations such as Gen.G, T1, DRX, DN FREAKS, kt Rolster, Nongshim RedForce, BNK Esports, OK Savings Bank Brion, and Dplus KIA. Each representative highlighted the long-term goal of sustaining peak performance over a season that now emphasizes endurance and strategic depth. Organizers also outlined a revised match format that will feature an initial double round-robin phase followed by group-based triple round-robin contests after the Mid-Season Invitational.
