Riot Games has announced that the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), a prominent international League of Legends tournament, will take place at Vancouver's Pacific Coliseum. The event is scheduled to run from June 27 to July 12, 2025.
Ten teams representing five regions will compete over two weeks. Each region—Korea (LCK), China (LPL), Europe (LEC), Americas (LTA), and Asia Pacific (LCP)—will send two teams each. The region whose teams achieve the highest placements at MSI 2025 will earn an additional slot at the League of Legends World Championship later this year.
Notably, the MSI prize pool has significantly increased, totaling $2 million USD, an eightfold rise compared to the previous year. Riot Games indicated this increase reflects a strategic effort to support long-term growth and sustainability within professional esports. The World Championship, scheduled from late September to early November, has also seen its prize pool double from $2.25 million to $5 million USD.
The Pacific Coliseum, known for hosting major sporting events like the 2010 Winter Olympics figure skating competitions and the 2017 League Championship Series Spring Finals, continues its tradition of international prominence with MSI 2025. Tickets will be available in two rounds, with initial sales beginning March 28. Mastercard holders will have early access starting March 27.
MSI serves as a critical midpoint competition for professional League of Legends teams, providing an international stage to gauge regional strength before Worlds. Riot Games plans three major international tournaments annually from 2025 onward, starting with First Stand in March, followed by MSI, and culminating in the World Championship.
