The 2025 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) regular season is set to launch on April 2, starting with a high-stakes showdown between Hanwha Life Esports and Gen.G.
Hanwha Life Esports enters the season with significant momentum after securing victories in both the inaugural LCK Cup and the First Stand international tournament, held earlier this year. Gen.G will aim to avenge their losses to Hanwha Life, including recent defeats in the 2024 LCK Summer Finals and the LCK Cup Finals.
This season marks a pivotal shift for LCK, moving away from its previous split-season format to a single-season structure running from April through September. Teams will compete through multiple rounds, with standings determining their placement into either the Legend or Rise groups, ultimately competing in best-of-three matches.
Another significant introduction for 2025 is the Fearless Draft, a ban/pick system that received positive fan and player feedback during trials. Riot Games confirmed it will be fully integrated into both regional and international events this year.
Fans are already anticipating key matchups, including a highly anticipated meeting between long-standing rivals Gen.G and T1, scheduled for Sunday, April 6. The two teams have faced each other in multiple recent finals, intensifying their rivalry.
Additionally, schedule adjustments have been implemented for viewer convenience. Weekday games now begin at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., while weekend matches start at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. The regular season will be streamed across several platforms, including YouTube, SOOP, and Naver Esports & Games. Tickets for attending matches live will be available through Interpark, priced at ₩20,000 on weekdays and ₩25,000 on weekends.
