Akatsuki Games Inc. launched TRIBE NINE, a free-to-play brutal action RPG, today on Steam, the iOS App Store, and Google Play. Set in a dystopian Neo Tokyo, the game pits a trio of teen rebels against a mysterious masked figure known only as Zero, whose extreme games have turned everyday life into a high-stakes battle for survival.

TRIBE NINE is available in Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean. Players explore the neon-lit urban sprawl, engaging in fast-paced three-person team combat that requires both strategy and quick reflexes. A unique “XB (Extreme Baseball)” mode, inspired by the sport, adds an unconventional twist to the action, while an expansive 2D pixel-style overworld invites exploration and discovery.

In addition to its launch, Akatsuki Games introduced the “Support Contract,” a battle pass system that rewards players with items such as Enigma Entities, Wonder Boxes, limited-edition skins, and more as they progress by completing missions. The current Transmelt Edition of the Support Contract runs from 11:00 a.m. PST today until 5:00 p.m. PST on April 2, with initial access unlocked by completing Story Challenge Chapter 1, “Hazardous Workplace.” Players who link their game account to Apple, Google, or Steam receive an extra bonus of 300 Enigma Entities.

A new gameplay trailer, “Minato Chapter,” was also unveiled at launch. The trailer spotlights Minato City—a former stronghold of celebrated heroes now transformed into a battleground where residents vie for dominance. In this chapter, protagonist Yo Kuronaka and his allies confront the enigmatic antagonist known as #9, further deepening the narrative of resistance against an oppressive regime.

Developed in collaboration with Too Kyo Games, TRIBE NINE draws on a rich tradition of Japanese storytelling, blending humor, strategy, and raw action. The immersive world and dynamic combat mechanics promise to engage fans of both traditional RPGs and modern free-to-play titles.
