Independent game developer DarZal Games has released "6-Sided Stories," a cozy puzzle game now available on Steam for $4.99, currently offered at a 10% launch discount.
The game combines hand-drawn puzzles with lofi music tracks from independent artists, aiming to provide a relaxing experience for players. Each puzzle consists of hexagonal pieces that can be flipped horizontally, vertically, or through color inversion to reveal a complete image.
"6-Sided Stories" features over 40 puzzles that increase in difficulty, introducing each flipping mechanic separately before integrating them into more complex challenges. To assist players, the game includes a "Hints" feature that highlights pieces needing attention if left untouched for several seconds. A lightbulb icon can be toggled to display the full image as a guide.
The puzzles depict a narrative of four animal friends—a cat, a mouse, a dog, and a family of pigeons—as they embark on seasonal adventures ranging from autumn landscapes to snowy scenes and beach outings.
Players can switch between music tracks or mute them entirely, with song details displayed in-game. Clicking on album art directs players to the artists' SoundCloud or Bandcamp pages. The game is designed to be streamer-friendly, allowing content creators to share gameplay without copyright concerns.
"6-Sided Stories" is available for purchase on Steam, with the launch discount valid for the first two weeks.
