Notorious Studios, founded by veterans from the team behind World of Warcraft, is set to release its latest multiplayer action role-playing game, Legacy: Steel & Sorcery, during Steam Next Fest from Oct. 14 to 21. The game will be available as a free early alpha demo.
Legacy: Steel & Sorcery transports players to the fantasy realm of Mithrigarde, now enveloped in a mysterious fog. Gamers can choose from a variety of traditional fantasy classes to engage in combat against creatures such as goblins and ogres, as well as other players competing for the same treasures.
"Our goal was to build upon the foundations of RPGs and MMOs, incorporating lessons learned from developing one of the most successful MMOs of all time, World of Warcraft. Based on feedback from players, we believe we have something special here and are excited to share it with a broader audience," said Chris Kaleiki, founder and CEO of Notorious Studios.
In the game, players must navigate war-torn landscapes to reclaim lost treasures and enhance their characters by upgrading supplies and lodgings in the safe haven of Stonehaven. The experience emphasizes player-driven narratives and dynamic gameplay environments.
Notorious Studios, headquartered in Irvine, California, is a venture-backed startup composed of former Blizzard Entertainment developers who contributed to titles like Diablo and Overwatch. The studio employs a global team of 30, including remote workers, and is dedicated to creating immersive and engaging gaming worlds that foster community and creativity.
