Linkin Park to Perform 2024 League of Legends World Championship Anthem, “Heavy Is The Crown”

Riot Games has revealed that LINKIN PARK will perform the 2024 League of Legends World Championship anthem, "Heavy Is The Crown." Fans can tune in to watch the music video on YouTube or stream the track on September 24 at 8:00 AM PT.

This marks LINKIN PARK’s latest project following their chart-topping single “The Emptiness Machine,” their first new release in seven years, which hit #1 and garnered over 80 million streams. Their new album From Zero is set for release on November 15.

Mike Shinoda of LINKIN PARK expressed excitement about the collaboration. "Partnering with Riot to create this anthem for the League of Legends community has been an amazing experience. The song captures our signature sound with new energy, and we can’t wait for fans to hear it."

Riot Games’ Global Head of Music, Maria Egan, highlighted the significance of the anthem, stating, “The Worlds anthem is something League players look forward to each year. The lyrics of ‘Heavy Is The Crown’ align perfectly with this year’s Worlds theme, making it a powerful companion to our music video.”

Previous League of Legends anthems have been performed by top artists like Imagine Dragons, Lil Nas X, and NewJeans. The 2023 anthem, “GODS” by NewJeans, broke records with nearly 270 million streams.

The League of Legends World Championship, known as Worlds, is the most prestigious event in esports. Teams from nine regions compete over three months for the title of world champion. The 2023 Worlds Finals set a record as the most-watched esports event in history.
