Only Four Slots Remain at the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2024 Main Tournament

24 elite teams entered the PUBG Mobile World Cup, and 12 have already secured their spots in the main event. The remaining 12 teams, along with wildcard entries, must now battle through the Survival Stage on July 23 to advance.

The group stage began with a hectic start, but attention quickly shifted to the middle of the leaderboard. While Tianba and Yoodo Alliance dominated, the real action was in the mid-table, where small differences in scores determined advancement to the main event or the Survival Stage.

Vampire Esports, REJECT, iNCO Gaming, Dplus, MadBulls, and Falcons Force fought fiercely for their spots. With REJECT making a strong comeback in rounds 11 and 12, iNCO and Dplus missed their direct advancement and now face the Survival Stage.

The Survival Stage, consisting of 12 rounds instead of 18, leaves little room for error. Only four of the 16 teams will make it to the main event. Playing it safe won’t be enough; teams must maximize their points to stay in the $3 million prize pool event.

With the Survival Stage starting tomorrow, all eyes will be on IW NRX, who struggled in the group stage. Close contenders like REJECT will also be in the spotlight. The Survival Stage spans two days, with teams playing six matches per day. The final four teams will secure their last chance to stay in the tournament, which begins its main event on July 26.

The main tournament will feature 16 teams and 18 matches over three days, culminating in crowning the champion on July 28.

From a viewership standpoint, the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2024, with one of the largest prize pools in the game’s history, has been intriguing. Currently, it ranks 26th in peak viewership among PUBG Mobile events, with 384,823 concurrent viewers, according to Esports Charts. However, this is before the main event has begun.

As the tournament progresses, there’s a strong possibility of a viewership surge. An action-packed Survival Stage and high-stakes main event could propel the World Cup into the top three, setting the stage for the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2024 in November.

The current record for peak viewership in PUBG Mobile is held by the PUBG Mobile Global Championship Season 0, which had a $2 million prize pool in 2021 and peaked at 3.8 million viewers, three times more than its closest rival.
