Following the departure of their general manager, Christopher “Papasmithy” Smith, 100 Thieves also announced the departure of their head coach, Bok “Reapered” Han-gyu.
Reapered’s coaching career shone brightly in the LCS. He rose to prominence in the LCS as the long-standing head coach for Cloud9 for four years and three months. After his tenure with C9, he joined 100 Thieves in April 2021, where he led the team to three LCS finals and won once. However, when it came to 100 Thieves’ competition in international tournaments have not been as successful, as they failed to make it past the group stages at their latest international tournament run at Worlds 2022.
Via Twitter, Reapered commented on his departure.
“It was a fun and wonderful journey. Now that it is a free agent, I am looking forward to what my next journey will be.
Now I'm a free agent. After starting his coaching career, I went to the finals every year, and I'm the coach who participated at Worlds the most. Please feel free to contact me wherever you need my help, whether it's in a team or a business environment.
I want to meet many people and learn many things while I am not in a team. I am planning to visit Korea and Japan soon, and I would like to meet and talk with Korean and Japanese teams as well as the management of those teams.
If you are a person or company or team in NA,KR,JP who want to talk about esports, team management, share experience, and business, I would like you to contact me comfortably, and build rapport.”
