On day 24 of the 2022 LCK Summer split, kt Rolster defeated Kwangdong Freecs 2-0 in the first match of the day. On Sylas in game 1 and on Galio in game 2, the mid laner for KT, Lee “VicLa” Dae-kwang, made plays that left everyone watching in awe. Following his victory, he joined Inven for a post-match interview.
How does it feel to take the 2-0 victory tonight?
We lost to KDF in round 1, so I’m glad that we were able to get our revenge in our round 2 rematch tonight. Getting the victory tonight was especially important for our playoffs chances, so I’m relieved that we got a clean 2-0 victory tonight.
Game 1 felt like, “Who can carry harder, Lucian or Kog’Maw?” But in the end, you were chosen as Player of the Game.
It felt like Sylas had more responsibilities in late game teamfights, so I think I was able to do more. I also was named Player of the Game for the first time, but it felt indifferent. However, I did satisfied with how much I was able to do on Sylas.
KT played on the red side in game 2, yet Zeri was left open during the draft. How come?
It felt like we could deal with her if our opponents took her, and felt we wouldn’t lose if we got her. When we picked Zeri, Aiming got excited and said, “We won this.” She’s that strong and fun to play.
The team dove the fountain for Aiming’s pentakill in the end.
I was actually going to use Zhonya’s Hourglass to survive the dive, but it sucked a bit that I died much faster than I anticipated.
You’ve showcased a very wide champion ever since your days in LCK CL. How confident are you in your champion pool?
Personally, I don’t think it’s that wide. There are still a lot of champions that I need to learn. I think it’s good to have that attitude of wanting to at least try playing a champion that seems good in the meta.
KT’s recent win patterns mostly lie within the bot lane, and spend a lot of resources to get them ahead.
I think the current meta is a bot lane meta, so Aiming’s been very good at what he does.
Rascal said that he thinks he can climb to fourth place in the standings. What are your goals?
I also think that our team has a lot of potential, so we can at least get fourth place. If we can continue honing our game and improve, I believe we can beat every team in the league.
Next week, KT faces Hanwha Life Esports and Nongshim RedForce.
They’re both teams that can throw hard punches, so we won’t get complacent and continue to work hard like we do.
Lastly, is there anything you’d like to say?
Thank you to everyone who continues to cheer for me and the team. I’ll continue to show improvement as a pro.
