The 2022 PUBG Nations Cup was full of exciting moments from the best players around the world. While Team UK took home the championship of the second PUBG Nations Cup, players showcased some highlights to go a long way. Here are the top 5 moments to cherish from PNC 2022.
5. Savior knocks out vhz with the iron sight on Mk47 Mutant
Except for those of you who enjoy using the iron sight and the Mk47 Mutant, you’ll know how difficult it is to be precise with the gun. However, Hu "Savior" Wei-Zhong was the marksman as he took down Hailton "vhz" Junior riding by, just at the beginning of the game. Team Brazil were the leaders at this point, and things went south for them afterward, as they struggled through days 3 and 4, ending up in 3rd place behind Team Vietnam.
4. Team UK insta-wipe Team Argentina riding in
When you play PUBG, sometimes you simply don’t have a choice but to attempt to take down those enemies that are armed and ready, waiting just for you. Team Argentina had to make that choice heading into the open arms and fire of Team UK. Team UK, being the best team in the tournament, single-handedly wiped out Team Argentina and moved on to win that match.
3. Inonix decides the winner between Team USA and Team China
Na “Inonix” Hee-joo is arguably one of the best clutch players that PUBG esports has seen. He is used to fighting against multiple players… and winning. This wasn’t the case for Inonix this time, but he did manage to knock down several people before he went down, ultimately deciding the outcome of the clash between Team China and Team USA.
2. Shotgun fiasco
When the circle caves in toward downtown, players begin to pick up shotguns instead of their DMRs, as shotguns are the strongest in close range. The end of match 15 was a shotgun fiasco between the far east Asia countries. Wei "xxxLu" Daying is known to be a great shot, but his shotgun skills weren’t good enough to take down a 2v1 fight against Kein "Kein" Sera as Team Japan took the win.
1. Team Vietnam secures 11 out of 12 points to rise to 2nd place
Prior to Match 20, Team Vietnam had 159 points — 14 points fewer than Team Brazil. In order for Team Vietnam to secure 2nd place, they needed to score at least 14 more points than Team Brazil. In case of a tie, Team Vietnam had the edge via the tiebreaker rule.
Team Brazil was eliminated early, scoring only four points, and Team Vietnam managed to position themselves on the only compound left in the safe zone. When 10 players were left on the map, Team Vietnam had secured three kills plus four placement points — seven points in the game — and they needed 11 more points to reach 2nd place. Winning the Chicken Dinner would mean six more placement points, so they needed to kill at least five out of the remaining six enemies — an almost impossible task, but they managed to do the impossible and placed themselves proudly in 2nd place overall.
