Royal Never Give Up have announced a change to their lineup just days after they won the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational. Top laner Chen "Bin" Ze-Bin is leaving the team to join Bilibili Gaming. In return, BLG's top laner Chen "Breathe" Chen is joining RNG.
Bin left his former team Suning, with whom he reached the 2020 World Championship finals, last offseason and played with RNG for just one split. Although the top laner struggled to keep up with the level of his peers in the Spring Split and was considered by analysts as a point of weakness in the lineup, he was voted as the Finals MVP of the LPL Spring Split. In the MSI 2022 finals, Bin was one of the shining stars on the team. Particularly his Gwen performances stood out and helped secure RNG their back-to-back MSI title.
Breathe and BLG also had not been together for long. He joined the squad last December, after spending one year on Team WE. BLG had a decent run in the 2022 LPL Spring Split, ending the regular season in eigth place with a 9-7 record. In the playoffs, they didn't get much further. A 3-1 victory over Rare Atom put BLG in front of Top Esports, who eliminated BLG from the playoffs.
The 2022 LPL Summer Split kicks off on Wednesday, June 15. Follow more roster changes in our offseason megapost.
