In a tweet sent out by the LCS, it has been announced that Cloud9's top laner Park "Summit" Woo-tae has won the league's 2022 Spring Split MVP Award. After being a relatively overlooked top laner in the LCK, Summit's performance in the LCS regular season was one of the most impressive debuts for a player in the history of the league.

Summit won the LCS's "Player of the Game" honor seven times — more than any other player. The two closest were Team Liquid's jungler Lucas "Santorin" Tao Kilmer and 100 Thieve's top laner Kim "Ssumday" Chan-ho. In addition, he was voted to the LCS 2022 Spring Split 1st All-Pro team along with his jungler Robert "Blaber" Huang. Summit was also the only player in the league to be awarded Player of the Week twice.

As a team, Cloud9 had the best record in the league for the majority of the split, until they were eventually passed by their rivals Team Liquid. However, they were unable to translate this success to playoffs, as Cloud9 was quickly knocked down to the lower bracket by the third seeded team 100 Thieves — a 3-0 sweep for the latter.

The trouble did not end there, as the team's championship aspirations faded away after another 0-3 sweep to Evil Geniuses. Community perception saw Summit as one of the main figures responsible for the losses — going 7/34/12 throughout the six games.

Summit has been competing in League of Legends since late-2016. Previously competing with teams such as Afreeca Freecs and Liiv SANDBOX — Cloud9 is his first team he has competed with outside of Korea.

Some of Summit's most notable results domestically include winning the IeSF 9th Esports World Championship, making it to the finals of KeSPA Cup 2019, and placing third at LCK 2019 Summer.
