Former League of Legends player Kirill "Likkrit" Malofeyev, best known for his days on the Albus Nox Luna squad that reached the top eight at the 2016 World Championship, has been affected by new sanctions from the United States government.

The sanctions, which target individuals close to Russian president Vladimir Putin for supporting the invasion of Ukraine, are aimed at Likkrit's father, oligarch Konstantin Malofeyev. According to the United States FBI, Konstantin Malofeyev played an important role in Russia's annexation of the Crimea region in 2014. More recently, the government body alleges, he has been instrumental in organizing ways for sanctioned Russians to omit the sanctions imposed by the United States.

Likkrit, co-owner of CIS-based esports team CrowCrowd up until today, has stepped back from the organization in wake of the sanctions. Likkrit is suspected by the US government of helping his father avoid imposed sanctions. His name, and his father's, can be found on the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFACT) Sanctions list.

Likkrit joins the likes of pro teams such as Virtus.pro and Gambit targeted by western entities for their ties to Russian oligarchs or the Russian government amid the ongoing war in Ukraine.
