The 2022 LPL Spring Split was set to conclude on the same day as the 2022 LCK Spring Split, but as the LCK Spring Playoffs have already gotten underway with DWG KIA's 3-0 win over Fredit BRION, regular season games in China have yet to be played.
A multitude of matches in week 8 and 9 of the LPL Spring Split were postponed. Victory Five had to reschedule their match against Anyone's Legend in week 8 due to V5 jungler Hung "Karsa" Hao-Hsuan running a fever leading up to the match, and while all members of both teams ended up testing negative for COVID-19, a rescheduling of the match was decided before results came in to be safe. On Wednesday, March 22nd, Victory Five defeated Anyone's Legend 2-0.
This wasn't the only match Anyone's Legend had to have rescheduled. Due to due to network instability in Xi'an, the week 9 match between AL and Team WE was postponed, but managed to be made up quickly on March 20, which resulted in a 2-0 victory for WE.
The team most affected by any necessary schedule changes was Oh My God, who had to reschedule all of their matches in week 8 and week 9 in the 2022 LPL Spring Split to between March 23rd-25th due to the quarantine regulations in Shanghai. OMG has since played one of those matches, which resulted in a 2-0 loss to FunPlus Phoenix. The result of this match, combined with the re-scheduling of matches, has put OMG in an interesting position.
FunPlus Phoenix's season is done at 8-8, but OMG, at 6-8, still have two matches to play to finish their 2022 LPL Spring Split. OMG's last two matches are against LNG Esports and Royal Never Give Up on March 24 and 25, respectively.
Should OMG win both of their remaining matches, their record would be tied with FPX at 8-8, but regardless of the score in those series, two wins in addition to OMG's game score would punch their ticket to the post-season as the 10th and final team to qualify for the 2022 LPL Spring Playoffs.
