On Feb. 3, DRX announced that several members of the team have been diagnosed with and tested positive for COVID-19. Kim “Zeka” Geon-woo was diagnosed with COVID-19 on Feb. 2. Accordingly, DRX had their members examine themselves through self-check kits or PCR. Cho “BeryL” Geon-hee was also confirmed of COVID-19 while Hong “Pyosik” Chang-hyeon, Hwang “Kingen” Seong-hoon, and an employee were tested positive. The other members of the organization have tested negative or are waiting for results.
According to Riot Games' COVID-19 protocol, organizations have to continue to participate in the league with substitute players on the roster until the players tested positive return. As DRX has a 6-man roster, it'll be impossible for them to play players from their main roster. In this case, they could call up players from the Challengers League.
On this matter, Riot Games said, "We're doing our best to keep the LCK schedule. However, if multiple players on Challengers also test positive, the schedule could be rearranged."
The LCK season has been on a Lunar New Year break in the past week. DRX will have to play their next game next Wednesday, Feb. 9.
