These are the most hated Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighters

Source: Nintendo

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate isn't getting anymore DLC fighters. The 12 we have now is it. And now that the community has had time to play with all of the DLC fighters without the roster changing, active members have weighed in on their least favorite DLC fighter in the game.

I asked Smash Bros. players across multiple forums, groups, and social media platforms who their least favorite DLC fighter in Ultimate is (minus Sora) and have carefully added up the results. Here is the list of DLC fighters from least hated to most hated.

  • Sephiroth
  • Hero
  • Terry
  • Joker
  • Piranha Plant
  • Kazuya
  • Pyra & Mythra
  • Banjo & Kazooie
  • Byleth
  • Steve
  • Min Min

Here are some of the takeaways from this riveting data.

Min Min is the most hated Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC

Source: Nintendo

Min Min was the most hated DLC fighter by far. The other characters on the list, even Steve, weren't able to rack up even half as many votes as Min Min. Yes, that's right — she got double the votes that Steve got.

Some of the reasons?

"Min Min is annoying and looks unappealing."

"Min Min is the most annoying to play against."

"Due to her range, it makes it nearly impossible to face her with some characters."

"Not fun to play as or against."

"Matches against her are redundant. She is really spammy."

Okay, so in conclusion, Min Min is annoying to fight against, feels repetitive, isn't exciting to play as, and she is not sexy. Thank you for the insight, Super Smash Bros. community. But honestly, I can't help but agree that she feels clunky and her moveset feels boring despite how different she is from other fighters. And as a Yoshi main, BOOOO to Min Min.

The Super Smash Bros. community hates Steve

Shocker!

Banjo & Kazooie is a letdown for Smash fans

As fun as it is to hear the announcer say "Banjo & Kazooie" I refuse to ever pick this blasphemous character. I personally find the design and voice lines repulsive and all of his moves feel like a shitty version of attacks that are already in the game.

But this isn't about me.

The Super Smash Bros. community is also turned off by Banjo & Kazooie. The character was hyped up to high hell thanks to leaks and a great reveal. The classic duo has a lot of nostalgia behind them, making this exciting for millennials who want to see childhood heroes take a stab at taking down Nintendo icons.

But Banjo & Kazooie SUCKS. The moveset is passive, boring, and underwhelming. Adding him did almost nothing to the game. His inclusion made no significant impact to Smash except haunting people's dreams with that disgusting purple and green skin.

Plant Gang still supporting Piranha Plant in Smash

Piranha Plant is probably one of the least-talked about DLC fighters. He was actually included for free, making him a bit separate from the DLC fighter pass additions. The Smash community was confused about his reveal at the time since he's not really a character with a distinct personality or moveset.

He's just a plant.

But honestly, Piranha Plant isn't an offensive character. He is a solid fighter but he isn't amazing or crappy. Piranha Plant just exists and is that really so bad? While many claim it's a "wasted spot," the strange character has had a community of die-hard fans continuously backing up his inclusion in the Smash roster.

The Plant Gang has continued to make sure that Piranha Plant isn't forgotten about, making him the inspiration behind a lot of hilarious reaction memes. Also, it's probably one of the best-looking Kirby abilities in the game.

Pyra & Mythra are OP but the Smash community is torn

Especially after the Smash World Tour, it's been solidified that Pyra & Mythra are a bit overpowered. The sword duo are used by most top players and has a very easy-to-use moveset that is incredibly dangerous.

Despite being considered pretty OP, the community doesn't seem to hate Pyra & Mythra as much as Min Min, Steve, and even Byleth. This is most likely because Pyra & Mythra are fun to play. While powerful, players love using Aegis for their dynamic moveset and the ability to switch between two playstyles. It's hard to say you "hate" Pyra & Mythra if you are going to use them yourself.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players have forgotten Hero exists

The few times Hero was mentioned, players explained that Hero has too much RNG and feels clunky. But overall, it seemed as though the community just forgot Hero was even an option. Like who even cares... What game is he even from again? The same one as Byleth? Forget it.
