100 Thieves was the first team to complete their 2022 LCS roster, opting to remain with the starting five from the 2021 LCS Championship winning roster and promoting 100 Thieves Academy top laner Milan "Tenacity" Oleksij to the main roster behind veteran mainstay Kim "Ssumday" Chan-ho. The final confirmed LCS starter signing was that of Dignitas new mid laner Ersin "Blue" Gören, who played for SK Gaming during the 2021 LEC season.
The only other team to feature two players in one position is Cloud9, who have Jonah "Isles" Rosario and Kim "Winsome" Dong-keon. Winsome is set to start for C9 Academy, which points towards Isles making LCS debut at the start of next season.
In addition to Tenacity, Isles and Winsome, the 2022 LCS season will feature six other rookies: Cloud9 AD carry Kim "Berserker" Min-cheol, Counter Logic Gaming AD carry Fatih "Luger" Güven, Evil Geniuses mid laner Joseph "jojopyun" Joon Pyun, FlyQuest mid laner Loïc "toucouille" Dubois, TSM mid laner Zhu "Keiaduo" Xiong, and TSM support Wei "Shenyi" Zi-Jie.
