After former PSG Talon jungler Kim "River" Dong-woo joined Dignitas last month, another member of the PCS champion squad has departed. Mid laner Huang "Maple" Yi-Tang has parted ways with PSG Talon as confirmed by the team on Twitter.
PSG Talon announced within the first 24 hours of the LoL Esports free agency window opening that River would be parting ways with the organization, and one week later, it was confirmed that Dignitas had signed the South Korean jungler for the 2022 LCS season.
It is currently unknown where Maple will end up, but because of his legacy and experience in both the PCS and LPL, the Taiwanese mid laner could be a hot commodity despite the off-season being less busy than November.
Maple made his debut in the LMS, which was one of the two leagues along with the GPL that merged together to form the PCS before the 2020 season, all the way back in 2013 with Gamania Bears before signing with LMS dynasty yoe Flash Wolves. Maple was signed as a substitute for yoe Flash Wolves before the 2014 season and played for yoe Flash Wolves junior for only a month before being promoted to the main roster in March 2015 when the org renamed to Flash Wolves.
With FW, Maple won multiple domestic titles and made multiple international appearances, quickly solidifying himself as the region's top talent alongside at-the-time Flash Wolves jungler Hung "Karsa" Hao-Hsuan. Karsa went to the LPL to jungle for Royal Never Give Up after the 2017 season, while Maple stayed with Flash Wolves for one more season before going to the LPL himself to join Suning ahead of the 2019 season.
Compared to his career in Taiwan, Maple had mediocre results in China with Suning in 2019, as well as in 2020 with LNG Esports.
After returning to the PCS, Maple won back-to-back domestic titles with PSG Talon, finished top 4 at the 2021 Mid-Season Invitational, and competed in the 2021 World Championship.
