Warzone Pacific update delayed until December 8th

The Warzone Pacific update has been delayed until Dec. 8th, along with Season 1 of Call of Duty: Vanguard. Raven Software and Sledgehammer games cited no specific reason for the delay. The update was originally supposed to drop on Dec. 2nd, bringing the new Caldera map and adding the Vanguard weapons into the Warzone experience.

As a result of the delay, the RICOCHET anti-cheat system will also presumably be delayed for Warzone as well. The COD team has hailed the new system as a solution to the rampant cheating challenges facing Warzone currently, though based on how quickly hackers got around the system for Vanguard, not everyone is confident RICOCHET will make a difference.

The delay of the game comes amid a scandalous week for Activision. Over a thousand Activision Blizzard King employees have called for the removal of Bobby Kotick this week, after it was revealed by the Wall Street Journal that he allegedly knew about sexual misconduct happening on his watch, and actively defended predators from accountability. Xbox and Playstation chiefs both condemned Kotick in addition to employees of the company.
