UPDATE Nov. 21: Following Alphari's return to the LEC and Tactical joining TSM, as well as the confirmed retaining of Santorin, Team Liquid also confirmed CoreJJ as the team's starting support for the 2022 LCS season.
Original story:
Team Liquid has confirmed jungler Lucas "Santorin" Larsen will be remaining with the team for the 2022 LCS season. The announcement was made public a few days after TL announced that top laner Barney "Alphari" Morris and AD carry Edward "Tactical" Ra would be departing the team. Team Liquid Co-CEO Steve "LiQuiD112" Arhancet confirmed that Alphari was returning to the LEC for 2022, which falls in line with reports of Alphari joining Team Vitality.
Unlike Alphari, Tactical's team for 2022 has already been confirmed. On the morning of November 20, TSM announced that Tactical would be their starting AD carry for next season.
The organization is familiar with Tactical from his time on TSM Academy in 2019, though this will be his first time in the LCS with TSM after nearly two full seasons in the LCS with Team Liquid.
Team Liquid has been busy this off-season. Assistant coach Jonas "Kold" Anderson, who served as interim head coach following the departure of Joshua "Jatt" Leesman in the middle of the 2021 LCS Summer Split, was re-signed in his original position. Immortals head coach André "Guilhoto" Pereira Guilhoto has been anounced as the new head coach for Team Liquid.
Reports point towards Team Liquid signing Gabriël "Bwipo" Rau, Søren "Bjergsen" Bjerg, and Steven "Hans Sama" Liv to round out their roster alongside Santorin and support Jo "CoreJJ" Yong-in. After jungling for Fnatic for the past five months, Bwipo is reportedly looking for a return to the top lane, and it has been confirmed that Bjergsen has left TSM. Reports point towards Bjergsen coming out of retirement to play mid lane for Team Liquid in 2022.
In addition to Alphari and Tactical, top laner Thomas "Jenkins" Tran, who split time with Alphari in the 2021 LCS Summer Split, is now the new starting top laner of Counter Logic Gaming. The future of Nicolaj "Jensen" Jensen, who has played mid lane for TL since the start of 2019, is unknown.
